At McAfee, our CNC (Computer Numeric Control) programmers have industry leading knowledge and undergo continuous training in the latest technology and techniques. This training and knowledge coupled with utilizing the most advanced software available, allow us to create the ideal code and tool paths for our CNC Machining Center. Therefore, we can deliver the highest level of precision, repeatability, and accuracy for even the most challenging parts that our customer’s require.

McAfee’s CNC Machining Center

Our CNC machines allows for precise control over the cutting tools, enabling complex and accurate machining operations. We are capable of 3-axis, 4-axis and 5-axis movement. Our vertical and horizontal workstations are suitable for a range of applications–from small-part production to sophisticated aerospace machining.

Horizontal machine limits:

  • X=59.05”
  • Y=47.24”
  • Z=25.5”

We also maintain a CNC lathe with a 27.36” maximum swing and 14.96” max machine diameter X 21.850” max machine length with live tooling that grants the capability to machine large parts.

Our CNC programmers work closely with the Engineering, Quality and Inspection Teams to ensure that our customer’s critical parameters are fully incorporated into the code and tool paths. We not only ensure that the CNC machine instructions produce the part to specifications, but that they are also undertaken in a manner that maintains the structural integrity of the final part.

McAfee uses a variety of powerful CAD/CAM software, such as Mastercam and Esprit, to produce machine code for multi-axis toolpaths.

CNC Machining Explained

CNC machining is a process that uses computerized controls to remove material from a workpiece to create a desired design. It involves using computer-aided design software to create a 3D model of the planned part. The part is translated into a set of instructions that control the movement and operation of the CNC machine.
